Ask yourself…
Are most jobs in the civilian world just a little too boring for you?
Don’t want to sit behind a desk every day for the rest of your life?
Do you love working with your hands?

Maybe Commercial Diving is right for you.

Veterans Are a Priority in the
Commercial Diving Industry

Commercial diving is a competitive industry. It’s physically and mentally demanding work. You have to work closely as a team with others who are relying on you for their safety.

Veterans often make ideal commercial divers because they’re disciplined, reliable, and highly adaptable. Vets are used to living and working away from home for extended periods of time, and they don’t shy away from dangerous and challenging work.

This is an industry that actively seeks out and prefers to hire veterans.

We’re Veterans Too
We Get You

The Divers Institute of Technology has been continuously owned and operated by veterans since its founding in 1968.

We employ a dedicated Veterans’ Affairs Specialist who will help you with everything from filling out your G.I. Bill® paperwork to finding a place to live while you’re here.

We have over 42% veteran and military students (269 veterans of 636 active students from Jan. 2013 – June 2015) and more than half of our instructors are veterans.

DIT is a VA Approved school. If you served at least 90 days active duty (or 30 days with a service-related disability discharge) after September 10, 2001, you can apply your Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefit towards your tuition and living expenses while attending DIT.

The Divers Institute Experience

At DIT you’ll get lots of hands-on, in-the-water training during your 7 month program. We’ll teach you surface and underwater welding, cutting, and burning. You’ll learn diving physics and medicine, safety, rigging, salvage, hazmat, inland and offshore diving and more.

DIT is one of the only schools in the U.S. that offers the internationally-recognized DCBC Unrestricted Surface Supplied Air Diver Certification, allowing our graduates to work globally.

Classes are taught at our campus located on the shore of Lake Union in Seattle, Washington.

What Our Graduates Are Saying...
As a vet, the process enrolling was flawless. I transferred from University of Montana Missoula and Katie did a great job with the VA. I pretty much handed her my forms and it was done.
Bryce Hagen
DIT Class 110-13
Going through training at DIT, we always felt at home. The staff treated us as more than just a student; they prepared us to become part of a family of select few. We left DIT with the skills and confidence needed to be successful in this career and in life. We walk away knowing we are a part of something great.
