Advice to New Divers

Nanette Rohrbaugh—Finance Director, Human Resources

Nanette was born in Red Bluff, California and grew up throughout the U.S. since her Dad was a Radar Operator in the Air Force. She has lived in Battle Creek, Michigan; Klamath Falls, Oregon; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Glendale, Arizona, before coming to Seattle. Nanette worked for biotechnology giant ICOS Corporation, Ascentis Corporation and Root Sports prior to joining DIT in March of 2011 as the Director of Finance and Human Resources.

Michelle Perrigo, Administrative Services—Training Department & DCBC Assessments

MichellePerrigo2Michelle is a native of Cleveland, Ohio who moved to Seattle in 2010 from Kalamazoo, Michigan. She earned a B.A. from the College of Wooster and a Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University. Michelle previously worked 12 years as a college student organization advisor and as a counselor in Michigan and in Seattle. Michelle came to DIT in August 2011 as the regular front desk substitute. She is now the administrator for  the training department and for DCBC assessments, collecting documentation from industry divers and DIT graduates seeking international certifications for commercial diving opportunities.

Advice to New Divers
“Remember to breathe. If you forget that, it’s all down hill from there. Also, treat with respect everyone you meet, whether they seem important or not. How you treat others shows who you really are.”

Lynda Sharp— Registrar, Student Services

Lynda joined the DIT staff in 2011 with a background in proprietary and public schools and a Master’s in Education. Lynda oversees student and alumni records and maintains the Learning Resource Center on campus.

Jeff Chinberg– Staff Accountant

Jeff was born and raised here in the Seattle area and is a lifelong Seattleite except for 2 years he spent in Houston, TX.  He loves the PNW landscape and is a fan of trains, the ocean, and the mountains.  His educational background included a preference for learning on dry land.  He studied Accounting at UW and Seattle University, but he actually started working part-time in accounting his senior year of high school and has spent 30 years in the accounting field. Jeff previously worked for a various companies including Plywood Supply, NBBJ, Clearwire (now absorbed by Sprint), and Symetra. Jeff joined the Accounting team at DIT in March 2016.

Freddie Perez— Accounting Specialist

Freddie was born in Puerto Rico, and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his B.A. in Marketing Communications from Columbia College. Freddie had worked for T-Mobile, Atom Films, and Headbone Interactive prior to joining DIT in March 2011. Freddie is the Accounting Specialist and manages student accounts and payments.
