Advice to New Divers

Nanette Rohrbaugh—Director of Finance & Human Resources
Nanette was born in Red Bluff, California and grew up throughout the U.S. since her Dad was a Radar Operator in the Air Force. She has lived in Battle Creek, Michigan; Klamath Falls, Oregon; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Glendale, Arizona, before coming to Seattle. Nanette worked for biotechnology giant ICOS Corporation, Ascentis Corporation and Root Sports prior to joining DIT in March of 2011 as the Director of Finance and Human Resources.
Michelle Perrigo, Director of Compliance & Assessments Coordinator
Michelle is a native of Cleveland, Ohio who moved to Seattle in 2010 from Kalamazoo, Michigan. She earned a B.A. from the College of Wooster and a Master’s of Social Work from Western Michigan University. Michelle spent 12 years around higher education in student leadership development and curriculum/program implementation as a student organization advisor. She’s also worked as a mental health counselor in Michigan and Seattle. Michelle came to DIT in August 2011 as the regular front desk substitute. She is now the Director of Compliance managing the school’s ACCSC accreditation and serving the Training department and industry by organizing applications for prior learning/top-up assessments so industry divers and DIT graduates can advance their certifications and expand their commercial diving opportunities.
Advice to New Divers
“Remember to breathe. If you forget that, it’s all down hill from there. Also, treat with respect everyone you meet, whether they seem important or not. How you treat others shows who you really are.”
Tera DeRita – Front Desk / Administrative Assistant
Tera was born in San Diego but grew up in Bellingham, WA. Tera has worked many years in customer service. She is a certified phlebotomist and came to DIT in May 2017 after working for Ricoh at Amazon in Seattle.

Lynda Sharp— Registrar, Student Services
Lynda joined the DIT staff in 2011 with a background in proprietary and public schools and a Master’s in Education. Lynda oversees student and alumni records and maintains the Learning Resource Center on campus.
Dawn Brown – Inventory Specialist/NW Dive Supply Retail Operations Manager
Dawn was born and raised in Dallas Texas and moved to Seattle in 2015 after living in Colorado for 3 years. She spent five years working for the Dallas Cowboys as their Key Account Manager in Merchandising, she also has over a decade’s worth of experience in inventory management and accounting.
