
If commercial diving sounds like the career for you, you could be on your way to your first commercial diving job after our comprehensive seven-month training program. We invite you to tour our facilities, observe the students in action, talk to students and staff, go aboard our barges and vessels, and let us answer all of your questions.
ADMISSION APPLICATION:
Qualified applicants are invited to apply by first completing an interview with an Admissions Representative. You must also complete an application which includes the admission application, a letter of intent and one letter of recommendation and submit it to the school with the required application fee. You must choose your class preference on your application. Your Admissions Representative will provide you with the application materials and discuss available class start dates with you.
AGE:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. If under 18, an applicant must have parental consent and be 18 years old by the expected graduation date.
EDUCATION:
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent (GED).
LANGUAGE:
DIT is authorized under Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. All students must be proficient in English speaking, reading and writing.
PREVIOUS DIVE AND EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Applicants do not need to be certified SCUBA divers in order to be accepted at DIT. However, students must be experienced swimmers and be comfortable in the water. DIT does not grant credit for prior education or experience, unless approved by the Director of Training.
