All students are required to complete a dive physical. DIT uses ADCI’s Diver Medical Form to determine physical fitness for diving. Certain conditions and symptoms may disqualify applicants. For more information, contact an Admissions Representative.
Upon acceptance to the program, DIT will assist you in scheduling your dive physical. Traditionally a dive physical is scheduled and conducted during the first week of school, using your choice of one of the two options outlined below. In the event that a student receives a disqualifying physical AFTER being accepted and enrolled, any and all monies paid to DIT will be refunded, except for the $100 Application Fee.
Students may arrange for a physical in one of two ways:
Contact Qliance Medical Group. Dive physicals are available to DIT students by calling 206.381.3030 and speaking to a Membership Services representative. Qliance Medical Group has designed a custom program for DIT students that provides the required dive physical, as well as seven months of primary care while attending DIT, for a one-time fee of $450*.
OR
Contact Dr. Edmond Kay, Bellevue HealthForce Partners Clinic. Dive physicals are available to DIT students for $399* by calling 425.468.6500 and requesting Dr. Kay. A UHMS-certified physician, Dr. Edmond Kay, is Director of Hyperbaric Medicine for HealthForce Partners, and acting Medical Director at DIT.
(*Fee includes standard ADCI testing. Under either program, should additional testing be required in order to pass the ADCI physical, prospective student may incur additional charges.)
